So for my 30th birthday, my awesome friends surprised me. I was so surprised, I decided to retire from the world of surprises there and then. Seriously who would give a friend an air ticket to Tokyo on 30 dec and expect them to fly off on 31 dec, just so I can reach by 1 Jan? I figured out the answer at the end of my trip – fuckin amazin people. It was a very good trip, no expectations, minimal monetary distraction, spent quality time with old friend, time alone, it was possibly my first taste of independence and I love it. Even if I don’t show it and contrary to popular belief, I am still overwhelmed and grateful for every person and every thing that’s been in my life. This is way overdue but…New Year’s Day at Kojima‘s family home. Much kindness and family fun. Ros had same camera and switched it around somehow so some of the pix are taken by her! Kinda funny to come home and see photos of myself acting strange haha.

It’s tough expressing feelings in words. Which makes me wanna note that it doesn’t bother me if instagram’s been bought out, will just dig out actual cameras and head back to flickr (which is supposedly unpopular). Corporate decisions shouldn’t spoil the fun.

The pictures are so beautiful. I want to be able to take ones like them! (currently playing around/learning with a 1968 Minolta. We’ll see.)
